Start your day off with water! For many people, a great habit to form has been taking a water bottle with them to bed each night. First thing in the morning, chug it! This will kickstart your water intake nice and early for the day. Another amazing benefit for having water as soon as you wake up, is after your body has been fasting all night, this routine will actually help flush your organs and help you feel energized for the day!
Find or invest in a favorite water bottle. One you love so much that you just can't be without it! I noticed I tend to consume more water on days I have a bottle with a straw in it, opposed to a plastic water bottle, etc.
Add some flavor! There are plenty of 0 cal water enhancer drops out there. When you feel like you might be struggling and are just craving something other than water, this might be a great option to have on hand! You can also add something more natural, like lemon juice, or cucumber slices.
Reminders! Leave yourself reminders, whether it's an alarm on your phone or watch every hour or two, or a few written reminders on your favorite post-its around the office and house!
Before each meal, drink some water! While you are preparing your next meal, even if that means just heating it up, drink some water! This will help get more water in for the day AND help prevent overeating.
Going out for drinks?? Try and make every other beverage a glass of water! This will definitely help increase your daily water intake as well as not leaving you possibly hungover which is a main cause of dehydration. And let's face it, hangovers are lasting WAY longer these days, this trick is well worth it.
Adding herbal teas into your routine can help you with variety as well as many other health benefits.
Eating foods that have high water content like cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, strawberries, peaches, oranges, peppers, pineapples, celery, and broccoli! Yum! These foods will help your body feel hydrated, help satisfy cravings, and help you feel satiated.
